Integrating old technology into new and emerging technology is about as easy as playing Candy Crush on a Blackberry or making a Facetime call on a rotary phone. If neither of those analogies resonate, how about using a floppy disk in a USB port?
At any rate, you get the picture. Merging innovative new technology applications with old, inflexible core banking systems and processes is not an easy task. The simple truth is, the old technology is fading fast and rapidly becoming incompatible with newer applications.
