Samuel John Mathew

In this role, Samuel leads the team in establishing the Bank’s Documentary & FI trade vision, P&L and capabilities for its corporate and institutional clients. In addition, he is a Vice-Chair of the ICC Banking Commission Steering Committee leading the ICC Trade Register Report at the Banking Commission. Samuel is an IBF Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Banking & Finance and has served in the past as Co-Chair of the Asia Council for The Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT).

Since joining the Bank in 2004, Samuel has taken on several leadership positions, including Global Head of Documentary Trade, Regional Head of TB Sales – ASEAN; Global Head of Trade Solutions Structuring (SST); Regional Head of Product Management for Southeast Asia

Samuel has over 30 years of Transaction Services experience with leading banks such as Standard Chartered, Citibank N.A. and Deutsche Bank. A graduate of Bombay University, Mumbai with a First Class Honours in Engineering, he also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Nanyang Business School (NTU) in Singapore.
