Kojiro Kawata is currently serving as the Co-Head of the Global IT Division at MUFG Bank. In this role, he is responsible for various aspects of Global IT architecture strategy and Project Governance and Control.

Previously, Kojiro served as Co-Head of the Information Systems Planning Division at MUFG Bank in 2023 and a Managing Executive Officer for Mitsubishi UFJ Information Technology, Ltd (MUIT) from 2021 to 2023. In this role, his responsibilities included overseeing divisions such as Payments/Settlements/Transaction Banking, Financial Market, Anti Money Laundering, and Global Core banking Systems.

Kojiro joined MUFG Bank in April 1997 and initially worked as a relationship manager for corporate finance business in two branches in Japan. In 2001, he transitioned to the Systems Division, where he utilized his expertise in program/project management and application development across multiple regions, including the Head Office in Tokyo and the EMEA Headquarters in London. From 2019 to 2021, he worked in the Transaction Banking Division as the global head of Product, overseeing Cash, FX, and Trade Finance products.

Kojiro holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology from Waseda University.
